Leonard Lance Is Misrepresenting Himself As a Conservative
Leonard Lance is not the fiscal conservative he wants you to believe he is. Lance’s voting record shows otherwise. Lance has been a champion of spending and environmental causes his entire 19 year political career. Lance’s reputation as a moderate is well known amongst elite N.J. Democrat political insiders. Last August, incumbent Congressman Leonard Lance voted with Barack Obama to raise the debt ceiling 2.1 trillion dollars. Lance also voted for cap and trade, a carbon tax trading scheme that will necessarily raise taxes and energy rates. The Sierra Club’s Jeff Tittel, who loves almost no one in politics has publicly stated “He (Lance) really is the kind of person we need in government.”
For too long, politicians on both side of the aisle have consistently voted for programs and spending designed to benefit themselves and their establishment cronies while ignoring the values and needs of the people they were elected to serve. This has resulted in a massive overreaching federal government that seeks to regulate and control the lives of it’s citizens, far beyond the boundaries given to it by the constitution and far beyond what this generation can afford to repay. What right does one generation have to leave the next generation a mountain of unpaid public debt?
